PLUS SIZE HALTER TOPS - SEXY, SOPHISTICATED and DOWNRIGHT YUMMY

Satin Halter Top

After taking inventory of my options for using silky, flowing kimono style tops as part of the purrrrfect plus size party outfit over my pretty plus size lingerie, I decided to take a look at the options for real plus size party wear. Not casual tops converted and accessorized to serve as plus size cocktail party attire, but sophisticated, stunning formal shirts and tops that began life with that purpose in mind.

What knocked my eyes out right off the bat (or rack) was this empire waist cocktail top in hot pink satin. Talk about WOW factor! The benefits are that there's some elastic in the back for a better fit, the cups are built in and the jeweled brooch at the center of the breast is tasteful and you won't have to replace it because it looks cheap. If you happen to have a rhinestone pin that you like better in the jewelry box, you could certainly make the switch to a more high end style of adornment. The drawbacks of this top are that not every smoking hot plus size lady likes to display the amount of naked skin that a halter of this style would leave exposed. Plus, the evening might be cool! Layering is the answer to the dilemma and this can be acheived with
  • A plus size shawl
  • Matching Satin Evening wrap
  • A sexy sheer shirt that will cover you but still show your cocktail top to full advantage

The solution would be to find a sheer long sleeve or even a short cap sleeved evening blouse to wear over the halter. The results would be trendy, modest, but still sexy. I have seen evening blouses of this type with rhinestone buttons down the front and on the cuffs. The cuffs and collar might be satin or the sheer fabric doubled to make a sturdy foundation for the button closures.
